Philip D. Carnevale

Philip D. Carnevale is an innovative business leader with more than 30 years of experience in the business planning, management and operations of various types of entities. His focus has involved the manufacturing, processing and distribution of both consumable and durable goods and services. Accomplished in strategic business planning together with formulating and executing tactical day-to-day solutions, Philip is skilled in accounting, auditing, cash flow management, acquisitions, divestitures, finance, expense control, financial reporting and operational metrics analysis. In addition, he has significant experience in the operations of both privately-held and public entities during periods of rapid expansion and restructuring. Philip is a creative executive with public accounting experience both as a consultant and auditor. He has a proven record of proactive leadership in highly competitive and cyclical businesses and teaching experience as an adjunct professor of accounting.

From 2000 to 2010, Philip was the chief financial officer for Denman & Davis, a privately-held processor and distributor of carbon and stainless steel products with revenues of $50 million generated from three facilities based in the northeast United States. Additionally, he was a member of the company’s executive committee and board of directors. Philip was responsible for all accounting, finance and administrative functions including IT, HR, budgeting, credit, e-commerce, banking relationships and customer requirements management. He helped develop and implement a cost reduction and business restructuring program, and he obtained, implemented and maintained several asset-based lending facilities.

Prior to Denman & Davis, Philip held various officer and management positions for several entities, ranging from a privately-owned regional processor of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and nickel based alloys serving markets principally in Europe and the Far East to a privately-owned manufacturer of plastic and paper bags, and a publicly-traded entity with operations in 30 states that had industrial uniform rental, garment manufacturing, security services and commercial cleaning business activities. In addition, he helped develop a regional chain of retail dry-cleaning establishments in the Southeast. This diverse range of career experience has provided Philip with a broad knowledge of what it takes to be successful in today’s demanding business environment.

Philip began his career at Touche Ross & Co., one of the Big Eight public accounting firms at the time, where he was a member of its audit department and computer auditing implementation team.  He worked on the audits and consulting engagements for clients in a wide variety of business activities, including insurance, manufacturing, processing and distribution both in the public and private sectors. Philip ended his career in public accounting after being promoted to the position of supervisor, when he accepted the position of controller at one of his audit clients. He joined CFO Enterprise in 2010.

A graduate of Seton Hall University, Philip obtained a Bachelor of Science in accounting, an MBA in finance and a Certificate in International Business. He is a past president of the New Jersey Chapter of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, as well as a past chairman of that industry trade association’s legislative committee and a member of its national board of directors. Philip is a past adjunct professor of accounting at Montclair State University, in Montclair, N.J.
